If you update VLC, then VLC Remote will crash.

Update, the VLC Remote update has been approved, so please update to 6.0.2 and all should be well.

I have submitted a fix to Apple, but as ever, it’ll take about a week for them to approve it. In the meantime, the best bet is to downgrade to VLC 2.0.1 which you can get here:
